Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Aroumd Village
Your journey begins with a morning transfer from Marrakech to the heart of the High Atlas Mountains, arriving in the picturesque village of Imlil (1,740m). Upon arrival, you meet your certified local mountain guide and mule team.
The trek starts with a gentle acclimatization hike, allowing you to adjust to the altitude while enjoying panoramic views of terraced fields, walnut groves, and traditional Berber houses. The trail gradually leads to Aroumd village, one of the most beautiful settlements in the region, perched above the Imlil Valley.
You’ll spend the night in a welcoming Berber guesthouse, enjoying a traditional Moroccan dinner and a peaceful mountain atmosphere.

Day 2: Aroumd – Tizi n’Tamatert Pass – Ouaneskra Village
After breakfast, the trek continues uphill through cultivated terraces and scenic mountain paths toward Tizi n’Tamatert Pass (2,279m). From the pass, enjoy breathtaking views over the Tamatert Valley, dotted with remote villages and dramatic peaks.
The descent leads through the fertile valley, passing shepherds, orchards, and small Berber hamlets where daily life remains unchanged for generations. The trail eventually brings you to the charming village of Ouaneskra, surrounded by juniper trees and open mountain landscapes.

Day 3: Ouaneskra – Tizi n’Aguersioual – Matate Village
Today’s trek follows remote mountain trails offering stunning ridge walks and wide-open views of the High Atlas ranges. The ascent to Tizi n’Aguersioual Pass reveals dramatic scenery and an authentic sense of wilderness.
As you descend, the landscape changes to rocky paths and hidden valleys, providing a deeper insight into traditional Berber rural life. You may encounter villagers tending fields or guiding their livestock along ancient routes.
Arrive in the peaceful village of Matate, known for its hospitality and panoramic valley views. Enjoy a home-cooked dinner and overnight in a local guesthouse.

Day 4: Matate – Imlil – Marrakech
After breakfast, begin the final descent through scenic trails back toward Imlil Valley. This leisurely walk allows you to reflect on the journey while enjoying the last views of the Atlas Mountains.
Upon arrival in Imlil, enjoy lunch before your return transfer to Marrakech, arriving in the afternoon with unforgettable memories of Berber culture, mountain landscapes, and authentic village life.

- Comfortable trekking backpack (20–35L)
- Good-quality hiking boots (well broken-in)
- Warm sleeping bag (especially for refuge stays)
- Trekking poles (optional but highly recommended)
- Reusable water bottle or hydration system
- Sunscreen (high SPF), lip balm & sunglasses
- Personal first aid kit & medications
- Headlamp or torch (important for summit days)
- Camera or phone for photos

- Warm fleece or down jacket
